Follow these steps carefully to install and play Dragon Ball Online Zero
IMPORTANT: Before downloading the game, you must install these required components. The game will NOT work without them!
Already Have These Installed? If you've played other games or already have DirectX 9 and Visual C++ packages installed on your PC, you can skip directly to Step 1 (Download Game). However, if you encounter any errors when launching the game, come back and install these prerequisites.
1. DirectX 9 (REQUIRED)
Essential for the game to run properly. Most modern Windows systems have DirectX 11/12, but DBO requires the legacy DirectX 9 runtime.

2. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package (REQUIRED)
Required runtime libraries for the game client and launcher to function. This package includes all necessary Visual C++ versions.

3. Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (OPTIONAL)
Only needed if the launcher doesn't open or shows a blank screen. Most Windows 10/11 systems already have this installed.

Installation Tip: Run each installer as Administrator (right-click → "Run as administrator") to ensure proper installation. Restart your computer after installing all prerequisites before proceeding to download the game.

Note: Both files contain the exact same game. We provide an alternative link because Google Drive sometimes limits downloads. The file is approximately 2-3 GB compressed.

THIS IS THE MOST COMMON INSTALLATION PROBLEM! Antivirus software (especially Windows Defender) will flag the game files as a threat. This is a FALSE POSITIVE. The game is completely safe, but you MUST add it to exclusions before extracting or the files will be deleted automatically!
Why does this happen? Private server files and game launchers often trigger antivirus false positives because they modify game files and connect to custom servers. This is normal for fan-made MMO projects.
Windows Defender (Step-by-Step):
1. Open Windows Security (search in Start Menu)
2. Click "Virus & threat protection"
3. Scroll down and click "Manage settings"
4. Scroll down and click "Add or remove exclusions"
5. Click "Add an exclusion" → "Folder"
6. Select the folder where you'll extract the game (e.g., C:\Games\DBO Zero)

Other Antivirus Programs: If you use Avast, AVG, Norton, McAfee, or others, search for "add exclusion" or "whitelist folder" in your antivirus settings. Add the entire game folder to exclusions.
Important: Add the exclusion BEFORE extracting the game files! If files are already deleted, you'll need to download again after adding the exclusion.
Right-click on the downloaded DBO Zero 2.0.7z file and select "Extract Here" or "Extract to folder". Choose a location with enough space (at least 4 GB free). We recommend extracting to a simple path like:
Recommended Locations:
• C:\Games\DBO Zero
• D:\Games\DBO Zero
• C:\DBO Zero
Avoid: Do NOT extract to Program Files, Desktop, or folders with special characters or very long paths. This can cause permission issues!
Extraction Time: The extraction process may take 5-10 minutes depending on your computer speed. Be patient and don't interrupt it!
After installation, launch the game using the Dragon Ball Online Zero Launcher. Account registration is done directly through the launcher for maximum security.
Security First: We use launcher-based registration to protect your account and ensure a secure gaming experience. Simply click "Create Account" in the launcher and follow the prompts.
Remember: Choose a strong password and keep your account credentials safe. Never share your password with anyone!
Once your account is created and you've logged in through the launcher, the game will automatically check for updates and download any necessary patches. After that, you're ready to begin your adventure!
